How many times have you come across an adult blog only to find nothing but images and no text describing the scene or even a prevelant link to the sponsor? I see it all the time. I have to wonder how well they do for sales, and if they make any at all. Porn is, for the most part, a visual medium sure. But like promoting any product which you believe in, you have to sell it. Not putting up any text describing what’s going on in the video and/or images defeats the purpose of closing a deal if you ask me. Imagine walking into a car dealership shopping for a car and all the salesperson does is show you a bunch of pictures of vehicles for sale, but doesn’t say a word to you. Are going to buy one? Probably not.

Now…some folks use the descriptions provided by the site they’re promoting. Ok, so it’s better than nothing. The problem I find with this though is – how many other affiliates put that same description up on their own blogs? If the search engines pick them up more than your blog for some reason chances are you’ll be left in the dust due to the lack of originality of your blog entry text.

Keyword rich descriptions are the ticket in my experience. Words like “hardcore”, “cock”, “ass”, and “pussy” may have been used more times than any of us could ever imagine, but they still get attention from the engines. They’re all still words used by surfers looking for porn – regardless of their overuse. I find being original in your keywork phrases can help a lot. Instead of just using “cock”, try “chubby slut sucks huge dick” or something similar. Search engines like phrases as much as they do just one word. 5 words in the phrase seems to be the unofficial limit. This is a great tactic to use, as even if the surfer only puts in one of the words from your phrase, chances are your entry wil pop up somewhere in their search. That is what you’re trying to do after all.

Write some good text with your blog entries folks. Try experimenting with certain words and see what surfers are looking for. In the end your really will get more traffic, and more traffic equals one thing – more sales!

Happy Blogging!

Your content is all taken care of and you’re prepared to write a few blogs and get your first post up. But wait! What about the spam you’ll be getting through your comments once your blog goes live? How about SEO? Will the search engines pick you up properly and know what your blog is all about? And lastly, how will you know how many people visit your blog each day? As an Adult Webmaster, that’s a very important factor to know.

Askimet more often than not comes with the latest versions of WordPress. However, whether you’re running and older version or not, you need it in order to control the spam coming through your comments database. Believe me when I say that if you don’t do this, you will be hit and hit hard with all kinds of crap. Trying to keep up with it is humanly impossible. Askimet intuitively sorts out what is spam and what isn’t for you. Sometimes it’s wrong, but when you tell it something isn’t spam, it will learn from that. Quite an amazing application when you think about it.

In order to get Askimet set up, you will need to get an API key. It’s free of course and easy to get. You must sign up for a WordPress account to get one. It works for each time you set up Askimet and for as many blogs as you want. Go here for your API key…..

All-In-One-SEO-Pack – This is one amazing Plugin! Although blogs get picked up quite well by search engines all on their own, in order to optimize this fact and get even more organic traffic, All-In-One-SEO-Pack provides some sensational tools in order to help you along. Just like you would a regular web site, this application lets you fill in keywords for all your posts, as well as for the entire blog itself. As anyone knows, these are all important factors when it comes to getting your blogs and sites seen by 100’s, if not 1000’s of people. Get the All-In-One-SEO-Pack here….

Stats is what you’re looking for when it comes to keeping track of the hits to your blogs. This is a pretty basic version, but in my opinion, it’s pretty much all you need. See where the hits are coming from, see what links your surfers are clicking on, and see how much traffic you’re sending out to your link trade partners. It also lists keywords and search terms that people used in order to get to your blog from search engines. How cool is that?! Get the Stats Plugin here… You will need an API key for this as well.

So there you have the Three Must Have Plugins for WordPress folks. There are so many Plugins out there and some are great while some just slow your blog down from my experience. When it comes to running an adult blog, keep things as simple as possible, while still keeping track of the most important things – controlling spam, Search Engine Optimization, and Statistics.

I will cover more Plugins as time goes on. But these will get you started on the right path. According to RDude anyway.

Happy Blogging!

If you’re an Adult Webmaster who owns and runs a blog or a series of blogs, you know the importance of attaining good, quality, targeted link trades. For those of you who might be new to the term Link Trades – one of the most efficient ways of getting a good Page Rank and getting lots of surfers to visit your blog(s) is to trade traffic with other Adult Webmasters. You can both either just link to one particular blog each, or you can utilize an A-B-C trade. This is where the other Webmaster links to one of your blogs, while you link to a different one than they are linking to you from. This can provide a better targeted audience to both of your blogs if done correctly.

Some may wonder “Why would I want to send my traffic to other blogs or sites?!” Well, the simplest answer to that is SEO. As you might know, a better Alexa Ranking and better Search Engine Optimization means more traffic. Through Link Trades you can build up that traffic and get better listings in the search engines and earn your place in the world of adult blogs. The bottom line? It helps everyone!

I’ve supplied two resources here which can help you with attaining blog Link Trades with other Webmasters. Some require you registering for free to get inside the site and look around for trades, and some require you to fill out Link Trade forms. Always fill in as much information as you can, provide a good keyword rich description of your blogs, and ALWAYS make sure your link to the other Webmaster is up before submitting. It’s only right, and besides, this way you won’t forget to put it up.

Adult Blog Resource – One of the first places you should go to for Link Trades when your blog gets going is Adult Blog Directories. Some have particular rules, so be sure to read them before submitting so you know whether or not your blog follows their requirements. That is very important. Adult Blog Resource provides some excellent directories you can submit to. It’s all free of course, you just have to have a button or text link back to them on your blog before making your link submission. I find buttons work best for directories. If the directory provides buttons, use one. NOTE: Some of the directories listed here no longer exist. However, most do and will bump up your traffic a little bit. Adult Blog Resource > > >

Blog Trade Finder – A superb resource for Link Trades, if it wasn’t for Blog Trade Finder, I doubt I would have made any serious sales in the last 4 years or so. It’s free to register and once inside you can browse loads of blogs that match the niche of your blog. From there you can send a private message to the owner of the blog requesting a Link Trade. I have yet to run into someone who isn’t interested in a trade, as long as you have at least 10 blog entries posted and have linked to some Adult Blog Directories beforehand. Blog Trade Finder > > >

These are just a few resources for you to use to find quality Link Trades with other Adult Webmasters. Finding others is not hard at all. Just Google “gay blog link trades” or “bbw blog link trades” and you’ll be met with dozens of Webmasters looking to trade traffic. Remember though, ALWAYS check out the site you are linking with. If there’s anything wrong with the site, i.e. – popups, slow loading, error pages, or God forbid – Spyware, certainly do not link up with them. Check to see if their content is legal (you can usually tell by just looking at it), is close or a perfect match to what you are promoting, and is well laid out. All of these factors will ensure you get at least a few hits a day from them.

Happy Link Trading!
